Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice About 4-5 lemons.
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar Or preferred sweetener.
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 cup hot water For dissolving sugar.

Optional Ingredients

  • ice cubes For serving.
  • lemon slices For garnish.
  • fresh mint leaves For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • Roll the lemons on a hard surface before cutting to release more juice.
  • Slice the lemons in half and use a juicer or your hands to squeeze out the juice.
  • Strain out the seeds and pulp for a smoother lemonade.
  • In a small saucepan or heatproof bowl, combine the sugar with 1 cup of hot water.
  • Stir until the sugar completely dissolves to create a simple syrup.
  • Let the syrup cool slightly before adding to the lemonade.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup.
  • Add 4 cups of cold water and stir well.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or water if needed.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavors.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices or fresh mint leaves.

Notes

For a fun twist, add sparkling water instead of still water for a fizzy lemonade!
