Instructions
Roll the lemons on a hard surface before cutting to release more juice.
Slice the lemons in half and use a juicer or your hands to squeeze out the juice.
Strain out the seeds and pulp for a smoother lemonade.
In a small saucepan or heatproof bowl, combine the sugar with 1 cup of hot water.
Stir until the sugar completely dissolves to create a simple syrup.
Let the syrup cool slightly before adding to the lemonade.
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup.
Add 4 cups of cold water and stir well.
Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or water if needed.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavors.
Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices or fresh mint leaves.
Notes
For a fun twist, add sparkling water instead of still water for a fizzy lemonade!
